Going back

I'm still in a funk over all this today. I've not made any healthy changes since my last post while drinking that green smoothie. But, as RawMama pointed out.....

I just pulled up the single post from yesterday and after re-reading all of my crying & whining and asking and pleading, there it was...

It's like it sat there at the bottom of my blog as an answer waiting to be seen. I was just too wrapped up in myself to notice it.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

So, now I'm on a mission. A mission to get back to the place where I felt convicted enough to put this powerful scripture on my blog. Back to the place where I declared that I would never desecrate His temple again with the junk I had been eating.

When we know better, we're responsible to do better. But for a long time now, I've been guilty of knowing better & not doing any better. Choosing the wrong path while having the knowledge of the better path. That's a heavy sin to carry. So, I'll be going through some forgiveness to get back to that place. I know God has forgiven me. But I need to forgive myself & get started on doing the right thing again. God led me here, he'll bring me through it successfully again. I just need to have some quiet time with Him & not as much quiet time with myself.

First, I will go make a green smoothie for lunch, even though I had hot cocoa with marshmallows for breakfast.

Edited to Add: Quinn says num num num while a make green smoothies and claps while the Vita-Mix is running. :-) He loves them so much I had to stop adding flax meal because it was causing him to poop too much. :-/ Here's a couple pics of him. He has to have some before I drink any, and I took a pic of when he started just now, and when he finished. See how much he drank! He'll be back for more!

That is so stinkin' cute!!!!

Although it's not raw, there is a great book about eating foods from the bible that may interest you.

It's called The Maker's Diet. I remember finding it very inspirational, I think I need to get it again.

WOW! So much is going within you...

I read how much of a struggle this is. SAD foods are not only addictive, but they are also a habit. AND habits are hard to break. I found a wonderful movie online (can't think of the name of it right now, but when I do I will let you know) where David Wolfe makes so many wonderful points about eating raw.

Two that have helped me so very much are...willpower is not enough...and we need to love what we are eating. He suggested replacing a SAD meal with a raw meal that a person loved. As you keep doing that you will feel better and better and it will be how you "feel" that will keep you eating that way.

I need to find the name of this movie. Be right back...

Okay...I found it! It's called, "Real N Raw".

Here's the link: http://realnraw.co.nz/

Unfortunately, it's no longer free to watch....bummer!

I am going to see if there is a copy floating around youtube. It is so worth watching! If I find it I will send you the link.

David Wolfe was my raw guru. When I first found raw foods online (about 8 years ago), it was through David Wolfe.

I think he definitely has the right idea....that we need to love what we are eating.

Maybe next time you go to Costco only put raw foods that you love in the cart. If you don't feel like green smoothies, don't drink them! I love green juices, so every chance I get (financially) I buy organic greens (my favorite is dandelion) and drink juice till it's coming out my ears...ha ha ha.

Willpower only gets us so far...and we will never keep eating stuff we don't want to...

I will keep you in my prayers!

That's awesome! My daughter is 3 and I wish I'd started giving her smoothies when she was much younger - I've been trying for about 6 months and she won't drink more than a tiny sip of any of them.

I just found and skimmed over your blog, and I understand. I've just restarted going RAW for about the 5th or 6th time - one of my detox symptoms is endless migraines, which makes mommying very hard, so I'd go back. This time I drink 1/2 cup of coffee with soymilk and sugar every morning, and then that's it, and the rest of my day is RAW - it's working well so far.

When I'm having a rough time, I reread Alissa Cohen's book and the testimonials (you mentioned one of her recipes somewhere, so I'm guessing you have the book), and I've found some good threads on her forum that are helpful (mainly ReneeH's 30 day and 30 day extended thread). Also, I have pictures of the myself I miss on my fridge, and my thin jeans are sitting on the shelf above where my now jeans are.
